Tufsteen

Our Commitment

Health and Breed Standard

Every Tufsteen dog is bred to the highest health and breed standards — here's what that looks like in practice.

How We Breed

At Tufsteen, responsible breeding is the foundation of everything we do. Every mating is thoughtfully planned with the goal of producing healthy, well-tempered French Bulldogs that will thrive throughout their lives.

Every breeding dog is selected for the complete picture—health, temperament, soundness, structure, and breed type. We believe these qualities are equally important, and each pairing is carefully matched to complement the strengths of both dogs while supporting the future of the French Bulldog breed.

French Bulldog

Our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing and ongoing assessment, including:

DNA testing for hereditary genetic diseases
DNA colour profiling
DNA parentage verification
Hip and spine scoring
Respiratory Function Grading Scheme (RFG) assessment

We are committed to breeding only from dogs that meet our high standards, giving every puppy the very best foundation for a healthy and happy life.

The Investment Behind Every Puppy

Responsible breeding is a significant investment long before any puppies are born. From carefully selected imported bloodlines to comprehensive health testing, every decision is made with the future of the breed in mind.

We never take shortcuts or breed for convenience. Our focus is on producing healthy, well-tempered French Bulldogs that reflect the quality and standards we expect of the Tufsteen name.

Our puppy prices reflect the time, planning, health testing, and ongoing commitment that goes into every carefully planned litter.

We would rather have a longer waitlist than compromise the standards we have set for our breeding program.

A Note on Colour

French Bulldogs are recognised in a range of standard colours, including brindle, fawn, pied, brindle pied, and fawn pied.

While non-standard colours are often promoted as rare or unique, they are outside the recognised breed standard. We encourage all prospective owners to research colour genetics and understand what they are buying before choosing a breeder.

Educated Owners

Our goal is to help you make an informed decision and choose a puppy that meets the breed standard and your expectations for health, temperament and longevity.

Our Commitment, Your Commitment

Bringing home a French Bulldog is a long-term commitment. We look for owners who understand the breed’s unique requirements, including careful heat management, appropriate exercise, ongoing veterinary care, and the responsibilities of owning a brachycephalic breed.

Our Puppy Sales Agreement is designed to protect the welfare of every puppy and reflects the shared responsibility we have for the lifetime of the dog. It outlines the commitments we make as ethical breeders and the responsibilities we ask every owner to uphold, ensuring each Tufsteen puppy has the best possible opportunity to thrive throughout its life.
